OTAKI. 10th January.
Manawatu election. — Polling is going On with great activity all over the district. Both candidates have worked hard from the first, and their supporters are now straining every nerve. Johnston was calculating -on the support af the natives here, but Buller addressed them on Thursday night, and carried all before him. In spite of every effort to turn< a "them, they gave him a block vote. This morning both sides are confident, and there is considerable excitement at the polling places.
