An enjoyable afternoon was spent \at Ballantyne's on Tuesday, when Miss Thelma Hewton was the guest of honour at a kitchen afternoon given by Mrs Charles Skerton, Riccarton. Miss Hewton, who was married to Mr Laurence Gillett on Wednesday, will make her home at Otorohanga, North Island. Those present were Mesdames Chas Skerton, S. J. Gillett, Jacobson, Misses Thelma Hewton, Hazel Conway, Nancy Rowley, Kathleen Anderson and Joan Hewton.
