LINCOLN

At the annual meeting of the Lincoln Amateur Swimming Club those present stood in silence as a tribute of respect to the late secretary, Mr L. F. Thomson. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted, the balance-sheet showing a very satisfactory credit balance of £17 6s Bd. Officers elected were:— President, Mr Chas. Howell; vicepresidents, Dr. W. A. Johnston, Mrs Foster, and Messrs W. Hopley, L. E. Smart, J. Stewart, J. W. Calder, A. Orchard, M. J. Scott, J. Henry and J. Doherty; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. H. Jordan; handicapper, Mr E. Mills; committee, Messrs G. Dew, A. Knight, H. Knight, G. Gillatt, T. Medlin, Sprosen, T. Keast, V. Russell, Misses A. Hopley, M. Gillatt, N. Peryman, E. Ford and J. Russell. Subscriptions were fixed as follows: Men over 18 7s 6d, junior and lady members ss, all reducible by 2s 6d if paid before January 15. It was decided to hold an opening day on December 14.

On Saturday afternoon the Lincoln Tennis Club played a friendly match with Lakeside at Lakeside. The scores were (Lincoln names first):—

Men's Singles: W. Jordan 7, F, Lambie 9; G. Crossan 7, L. Lambie 9; W. Peryman 3, L. Hintz 9; R. Belcher 4, A. Fincham 9.

Women's Singles: Miss M. Gillatt 3, Miss Amyes 6; Mrs W. Hopley 3, Mrs Fincham 6; Miss A. Hopley 1, Miss Hintz 6; Miss E. Ford 4, Miss Caird 6.

Men's Doubles: W. Jordan and G. Crossan 7, F. Lambie and L. Lambie 9; W. Peryman and R. Belcher 1, L. Hintz and A. Fincham 9.

Women's Doubles: Miss M. Gillatt and Mrs W. Hopley 2, Miss Amyes and Mrs Fincham 6; Misses A. Hopley and E. Ford 2, Misses Hintz and Caird 6.

Combined Doubles: Miss M. Gillatt and W. Jordan 4, Miss Amyes and F. Lambie 6; Mrs W. Hopley and G. Crossan 6, Mrs Fincham and L. Lambie 5; Miss A. Hopley and W. Peryman 0, Miss Hintz and L. Hintz 6; Miss E. Ford and R. Belcher 3, Miss Caird and A. Fincham 6.
