LINCOLN

The wedding was celebrated at St. Stephen's Church, Lincoln, on Tuesday, of Ada May, eldest daughter of Mr G. G. Smith and the late Mrs Smith, to Charles Evelyn, third son of Mr and Mrs Ernest Watkins, of Greenpark. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. T. M. Curnow, and the organist was Mis Curnow.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of magnolia cloque made on princess lines, with a long, deep cowl collar and gauntlet cuffs of embossed georgette trimmed with French pleating. Her beautifully embroidered veil was arranged as a Juliet cap, forming a long train and she carried a trailing bouquet of St. John lilies, freesias and cream rosebuds.

The bridesmaid, Miss Lily Smith, younger sister of the bride, wore a frock of floral fleuretta in pink and blue shades, with cowled neckline, trimmed with flowers to tone. The raglan sleeves were shirred across the shoulders and trimmed with French pleating. She wore a picture hat of blue straw, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and blue irises.

The little flower-girl, Shirley Edwards, cousin of the bride, was in a Kate Greenaway frock of surf green georgette, and carried a posy of amber blooms.

Mr Evan Watkins, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.

The reception was held in the Lincoln Hall, the guests being received by the bride's aunt, Mrs Clifford, who was wearing a navy blue frock and hat to match. Mrs Watkins was wearing a wine marocain frock, trimmed with self material, flecked in cream, and French pleating in cream, with a hat to tone.

When the bride left on the wedding tour to Southland, she was wearing a dark brown costume with hat to match.
