DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL
The usual monthly meeting of the Committee of Management was held in the Committee Boom on Monday evening last, the 7th inst. Present— B. Naylor, Esq. and Messrs Holt, Attfield, Oliver, Auckland, Hotop, Cambridge, J. E. Stevens (Treasurer), and Geo. Fache (Secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The correspondence was read and received. The Visiting Committee reported that they had visited the Institution, and had found everything satisfactory. Report No. 2, recommending payment of accounts for salaries and supplies for the past mouth, amounting to LSO 8s 4d, was read and received , The Treasurer's Report as follows, showing a debit balance of only 10J, was read and received. Mr-Ash m the Town Hall, Clyde, in aid of the Institution, as yet received, was LI I Ss, .and that it was included in the report just read. The Surgeon’s Report as follows, was read and received : No. of patients in Hospital at beginning of mouth ... ... ... 2 Do admitted during month ... 4 Do discharged do ... .. 1 Do remaining at end ot month ... 5 Mr J. Holt was elected member of the Visiting Committee, vice Mr" Auckland, retiring. Notice of motion by Mr Auckland—- “ That the resolution of meeting of Committee held on April 7th, re deducting the sum of LlO 5s from charges for extras made by contractors of rebuilding the Hospital building be rescinded, was after some discussion carried ; and it was further resolved —That Mr Charnock bo paid the sum of LI 0 ss. The Treasurer stated that he had received a letter from Mr F. J. Wilson, solicitor, authorising him not to pay any farther moneys on account of contract reerection of Hospital buildings to Mr Charnock without the written consent of Mr A. Moore, who was a partner. Resolved—That the Treasurer use his own, discretion in the matter. A vote of thanks was recorded to the Rev Mr Ash for lecturing in aid of the Hospital funds. A vote of thanks was also recorded to VA L. Simpson, Esq., Vice-President. The meeting then terminated.
