On rubbing .Holloway’s Ointment repeatedly on the abdomen a rash appears, and as it thickens the alvine irritability subsides Acting as a derivative, this unguent draws to the surface, releases the tender intestines from a'l acrid' matters, and prevents inflammation, dysentery, and piles, for which blistering was the old-fashioned, though successful, treatment, now from its painfulness fallen into disuse, the discovery of this Ointment having proclaimed a remedy possessing equally derivative, yet perfectly painless, powers.
