WOMEN'S CONVENTION.

Oheistchueoh, This day.
At the sitting of the Women's Council this morning the following resolutions were carried:—
Moved by Mrs Tasber, *• That in the opinion of this Counoil the treatment of prisoners on remand ought to be modified, and that they ought to be allowed to see their relatives in the presence of a warder Heated instead of standing on one tide of the iron grating, a sopy of the resolution to be forwarded to the Minister of Justice." Moved by Lady Stout, "That in the opinion of this Counoil a larger measure of technical education in connection with our primary and secondary schools is muoh to be desired." Moved by Mrs Tasker, "That this Council is in favor of the present system of free, compulsory, and secular education." Moved by Mrs Tasker, " That women be eligible on all juries, but that in all esses where women are being tried for infantioide and men are being tried for offences against women end girla, only married women sho'- , - , be eligible." Profeaaor Bickerton read a paper on the "Problem of Purity," advooating that women should be financially free, and marriage a union of love
