I Sbbftok, This day. The weathor has bien unusually wet here this year, and much damage has been done to roads ia consequence. A heavy slip 00----carred. at the Keep-It-Dark mine on Tuesday night. A mass of timber and mullook slipped away from the hill above tho mine. It smashed the poppetheads and the old winding wheel; the blacksmith shop was also carried clean away. Ho one was injured. A portable engine has been ordered from Greymouth to bail the mine. Several other slips occurred in the immediate vicinity, and did slight damage. Mr O'&egan delivered a pre-seasional address at Black's Point last night. He strongly favored a referendum and a polioy of free trade, and direct taxation. The unomployed difficulty was due to the artificial ecaroity of land, the result of a syttem of ignoring the national right. He would stand against all comers at the next eleotion.
