The Canterbury Oonnoil of the Prohibition Convention deoided that the societies nominate a week before the election oandidates for the various offices. Nominations for delegates to the Colonial Council (Wellington) are to bs sent to the Executive to fix the date of the next annual meetirig of the losal Convention. A motion of condolence and sympathy was pajsed with Mr G. M. Ledley. who durinar the Convention had lost his wifa by death. The Rev. L. leitt waa elected hou. vice-president. It was resolved " This council recommends that it take steps in every electorate to eeoure the selection of candidates of moral worth who will pledge themselves to support a principle untrammelled for the control of the liquor traffic by the people."
