WRECK OF THE LALLA ROOKH.
NO LIVES LOST.
Auckland, This day. The steamer Lalla Rookh, en route from Gisbome to Auckland, was totally wrecked on Sunday night at Great Barrier Island. She enoountered a heavy storm near the. Bay of Plenty, sprang a leak, and, to save her from sinking, was run ashore near Tryphena Harbor. All on board reached shore safely. The vessel broke up almost immediately.
