One of the men belonging to the Northumberland is anxious to know who is the agent here for the Shipwrecked Mariners' Society, as he is a member, and when wrecked at a port of Chili last year he was forwarded Home and received an outfit, which is the benefit given for belonging to the society.
The football match on the Recreation Ground to-morrow afternoon between the Napier and Te Aute Clubs promises to be a very good game. From the names below it will be seen that the latter are bringing down a very strong team: —Prentice (captain), K. and G. King, Stuart, Willian, Rutine, Matthew, Katine, James, Nathaniel, Morgan, John, Friday, Joe, Hiroa, and Lo Whetu, emergency. The game will commence punctually at 2.30 p.m.
The funeral of the late Robert Moffit took place this afternoon, a large number of friends following the remains to tho cemetery.
