PARIS.

July 8. The international monetary conference, which opened its sittings here on the 19th April last, and has sat on various occasions since that date," has now broken up without any definite decision having been arrived at on the subject of the universal adoption of bimetalism. The conference will, however, meet again in April next year, and in the meantime the various Governments will be requested to open diplomatic correspondence on the question, for the consideration of which the conference will assemble. July 9. Telegrams are to hand from Tunis announcing that the bombardment of Sfax by the French war vessels has resulted in the partial destruction of the town. The Arabs are, however, still gathered in force in the neighborhood, and continue to show a determination to resist French authority. A rebellious feeling is moreover reported to be spreading throughout the Kairwan district.
