At the auction held at Waiuku last there was a larger muster of stock than in any previous sale, a full attendance of buyers, and the prices obtained were in advance of those ruling at markets nearer Auckland, particularly for youn? cattle. One hundred and twenty-seven head were sold at the auction, and a mob of 50 steers by private sale. The Triangle sale on Tuesday was fairly supplied ■with cattle, and. there was a numerous attendance. Prices were a shade lower than for several weeks. Merino ewes, in lamb, brought 10s ; and with lambs at tide, 12s 6d each. The Sheep Fair, held on Wednesday, was very numerously attended. About 2,000 sheep were catalogued, and, with the exception ef about 30 rams, all were sold to the highest bidder. The •season is not a favourable one for the disposal of rams, and, unless they were very choice animals, the greater number of them realised butchers' prices only. Two English imported Leicester rams, fall mouths, brought £13 Ids and £15 respectively ; and about 20 of the best hog rams offered realised prices varying from £4 15s to £9 each. For the long-woolled. ewe hogs there was good competition ; they brought from 31s 6d to 42s 6d each. Half-bred ewe hogs, 21s to 25s 6d. Wether hogs, 18s 6d to 19s 6d. Long-woolled ewes, with lambs at side, 40s to 45s the couple. Halfbred ewes and lambs. 26s to 34s the couple. Merino ewes and lambs, 16s the couple. Ab Kemuera, on Thursday, the attendance was less than usual, consequent on the sheep sale the previous day. There was an average muster of ■tore cattle— about 80 head, and prices were fully equal to last week's. Dairy cows were rather better irorth, F«t ca.ttle were ju moderate supply— about

50 bead ; last week's rate vm barely sustained. Fab sheep Market was very bare, and prioes advanced 2* the head for ohoice quality. Lambs were of medn.m qua'ifcy only; they brought from 9a to 16* each. Pigs were dull of sale, whether fat or ■tore.

W. HUHTSIt AND CO. 'S BEPORT. We have to report that on Saturday last there was a fair supply of horses, chiefly hacks of an inferior description. The raoe mare Kathleen fetched £18. Maize sold at 3s 6d per bushel. Monday's Sale: There were about 130 head of oattle penned, chiefly store. Dairy cows : There was a very poor show of dairy oows, but those in sold at fair prices, from £10 to £11; baokward springers sold from £7 10s to £9 ; some half-fat oows realised £8 5s ; two-year-old steers, from £5 10s to £6 6* j three-year-old steers, from £7 10s to £8 ss. Fat cattle: There was a fair supply of good quality, which realised fully 40s per 1001b. Sheep Sales: There was a large supply. Halfbred sold from £1 6s to £1 lla 6d eaoh. Merinos, from lls 3d to £1 0s 3d. Some store merinos fetched 8s 6d. Some store ewes fetohed 15s 6d e*ch. Fat lambs, from 9s to 10s eaoh. Pigs: There was a large supply, which sold at last week's prices. ' Otahuhu Sale: Over 60 head of store stock were penned, the greater number being sold. Some two and a half-year-old steers fetched £7 5s ; two-year-old steers, from £4 10s to £6 15s. Yearlings fetched £3 6s per head. Two-year-old heifers, from £5 to £6. Dairy coirs, from £8 to £9.
