CALL TO PATRIOTS

General Alexander’s . headquarters have ordered Italian patriots to impede German troops moving' south Mong the west coast, of Italy between the levers and Arno Rivers-, says Algiers radio. Iho order stated : “The Allies are relying on patriots for the most minute details ot German movements mid also about. Germans remaining behind. Opportunities for action against Fascists and Germans left behind will be offered patriots, but the hour for mass movement has not yet struck. Patriots without coming out too much into the open should intensity action against Germans and Fascists, wherever possible.” The amnesty which the Italian fascist Government gave to “rebels* fighting the Italian and German Fascists in guerrilla warfare expired at midnight on Thursday*, says the Madrid correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph.” Those who fail to surrender will be shot if captured. A dispatch from Mussolini's headquarters stated that an all-out offensive against Partisan formations in northern and central Italy has begun. The Germans are moving three divisions out of the Isonza Valley, between Trieste and Finnic, in an effort to reinforce the German troops in Italy, according to authoritative reports received in London. Marshal Tito simultaneously has launched a counter-offensive in Slovenia aimed at striking against the weakened German garrisons, and battles are raging along a wide sector facing the Austrian province of Carinthia, where Austrian patriots have been carrying out hit-and-run raids against German border patrols and garrisons. Partisan mountain brigades are also heavily engaging Germans in the Savinsken Alps and north of the Snva River, along the Austrian border.
