Donations For March
At this week’s meeting of the Free Ambulance Board, the .superintendent (Mr. F. Roffe) reported that the Ambulance had not been granted a street day in Wellington tills year. However, street days in aid of the funds of the Ambulance had been held in other places with gratifying results, as follows: —Lower Hutt City, £ 66/42/5; I’etur.e, £33/3/7; Upper Hutt, £3:>/J/4; Eastbourne, £lB 15/3; Johnsonville, £’l3/6/2. It was also reported that the Lower Hutt City Council had increased its annual grant by £5l), making it £250, and the Makara County Council had forwarded its grant of £B6. In addition the Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department had forwarded £3d/12/-, being Hie result of the annual collection among the staff: the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board had given a grant of £25: and the Upper Hutt Women's Institute bad forwarded £B, the proceeds of a benefit occasion.
