TWO SOLDIERS KILLED
Motor-cycle Collides With Truck Dominion Special Service. MASTERTON, April 15. A collision between a motor-cycle aud an army truck near Greytowu last night resulted in the deaths of two soldiers riding the motor-cycle. They wereStanley George Martin, aged 24, single, Patea; killed instantly, severe head and body injuries. James William Newton, aged 25, married, Auckland; severe head injuries, resulting in death at 4 o’clock this morning. The accident occurred near the southern entrance to Greytowu at 10 p.m. The driver of the army truck was slightly injured by flying glass, and the cycle was thrown completely off the road by the impact. Tlie cycle was owned by Mr. J. O. Anderson, of Featherston, who was attending a Home Guard parade last evening. He heard the cycle started up, and went outside in time to see it disappearing down tlie road. A court of inquiry to investigate the accident was opened at Featherston this afternoon, and an inquest for the purposes of identification will be held at the Greytown Hospital tonight.
