(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, October 1. Finn values generally were realized at the Burnside stock sale, but fat pigs were in oversupply and eased appreciably. Fat cattle had a yarding of 308 head and quality was again good. Many consignments of heavy bullocks, with some outstanding cows and heifers, were forwaixi. Teh market opened a little below last week’s rates 'but there was soon a firming and the sale generally was firm. Heifers were in very keen demand. Extra prime heavj’ bullocks made to £23/12/6, prime heavy £2O to £2l/2/6, prime medium £l7/2/6 to £lB/12/6, medium £l5/2/6 to £l6/12/6, light to £l3 12/6, extra prime epws and heifers to £l6/12/6. prime £l3/2/6 to £l4/12/6, medium £ll/2/6 to £l2/2/6, light to £9 2/16. In the fat sheep pens there was an entry of 1643, which included a fair percentage of prime butchers’ ewes and wthers, but there were more lighter sheep, specially wethers, forward. The few hoggets penned sold well. Several pens of prime maiden ewes had a keen demand. A number of shorn sheep of 'both sexes mad etheir appearance and sold well compared with woolly sheep. Th sale opened on a par with last week for all grades but over the final race there was an easing of 1/- to 1/6. Extra prime heavy wethers brought to 40/-, prime heavy 35/to 38/-, prime medium 33/- io 34/6, light to 29/6, extra prime maiden ewes to 34/9, prime heavy 26/6 to 29/9. Fat lambs had much a larger penning of 34. Prices were easier on the exceptionally dear sale of last week. Prime lambs realized to 43/6. medium 32/- to 34/-. light to 28/-. There was a fair yarding oi store cattle and the sale was a good one throughout. Good three-year steers made £lO/7/6 to £l2/5/-. medium to £lO. twoyear steers £8 to £B/15/-. store cows to An overflow yarding of bacon pigs and porkers saw an easing of 5/- for both (•losses. Be*t baconers made to xo and best porkers to £3/15/-. A Large yarling of store pigs made late rates io Veasier. Twenty head oi dairy mostly nondescript, sorts, were hard to sell.
