(Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 1. At the Addington market there were heavier yardings in most sections today, but prices were little affected. The store sheep entry was about the same afi last week. Bidding was not so brisk, but coarse woolled ewe hoggets and ewes with lambs practically maintained the rates of a week ago. Up to 32/- was paid for good woolled hoggets, but a better line ot Corriedales was passed at 9d. fnore. Shorn wether hoggets made to 21/8 and ewes and lambs all counted to 16/9. There was a fat sheep entry of about 5250, against 3250 last week. Wethers from the south were included. Values for all closes were down by 1/- a head. Good wethers made 34/- to 37/-, tops to 41/4, medium weight prime 29/- to 32/-, good ewes 25/- to 29/-, tops to 34/-, prime me-* dium weight 22/- to 25/6, ordinary 18/to 22/-. Fat cattle penned numbered 475 against 404 last week. Prime quality entries came from Banks Peninsula and the West Coast and several truck lots from these, sources averaged from £l9 to £22 for specially prime. Good cattle made from £l7 to £2l, tops to £25/12/6. prime medium weight £l4/10/- to £l7 10/-, inferior down to £ll, best heifers to £l5/7/6 and eows to £l4/10/-, medium to good £lO/10/- to £l3/5/- for heifers and £9/10/- to £l2/15/- for cows. Good beef sold from 44/6 to 47/6, tops to 48/6, medium quality and heavy 41/- to 44/-. inferior down to 31/-.
In the fat pig section bacon was 3/to 4/- a head easier and pork slightly cheaper. Porkers made from £2/9/6 to £3/6/6, average price per lb. 74d. to 9}d , baconers from £3/9/6 to £5/4/6 average per lb. 6{d. to Bd.
