More War Materials Wanted MOSCOW, February 19. The chairman of the State Commission. M. Voznesensky, in a speech at the Communist Conference, warned the people to "keep their powder dry, and spare no efforts to produce planes, tanks, warships and other armaments.” He said that the production in Russia iiad increased by tin average of 13 per cent, a year since 1937. The value of the industrial output had increased by 14 per cent.; and the machine-build-in industry output had increased by 7G per cent. The average daily output of petroleum was from 84,000 to BG.OOO tons in 1937 and was now 97.000 or 98,000. The conference resolutions included that party organizations must share the responsibility for lag in the fullrlment of the Five-year Plan; party efforts must be devoted to assisting industry and transport and capable men should be given important posts. Irrespective of whether they are Communists or non-members of the pirrly.
