Dutch Ex-Premier’s Breach Of Faith LONDON. February 19. Tlie Netherlands Government is investigating a report that Gormans kidnapped and imprisoned Dr. de Geer because he refused to divulge information about Britain. It is suggested that the Nazis lured him from London with a report that Ids wife was ill, thus making Idm commit a breach of loyalty. Dr. de Geer is reported to htivr; charted a German plane at Lisbon. instead of Hying to Holland il took him to Germany.
[Dr. Dirk Jan de Geer was Prime Minister when Hie Germans invaded the Netherlands. Some time after be resigned the Premiership, the Netherlands Government in London entrusted him with a mission to the East Indies. His return, supposedly to Holland, "in spite of solemn assurances to the contrary," was announced in London "with profound indignation" by the Netherlands Government o February <> “It is now our painful duty." the official statement said, "to declare Dr de Geer's conduct a breach of loyally and also an act dot rimen tn I to Ibo national interest."*
