Damage By Slip

The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers), in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday dismissed an appeal by Walter James Tasker against a judgment by Mr. Goulding, S.M., who had found for R. 11. D. and A. M. Sutherland in a claim brought for damages -to their property by a slip which they alleged had been caused by nuisance or negligence by Tasker. After reviewing the case, the Chief Justice said he had come to the conclusion that tile judgment of the magistrate must stand, and the appeal would be dismissed, with £7/7/- costs and disbursements. Judgment was received by Mr. A. W. Free for Tasker, and Mr. A. B. Sievwright -for live Sutherlands.
