The Germans have suffered in this branch of trade, and it is doubtful whether they will recover the trade for years to come. * * * By the steamer Invertay, which should arrive at Wellington today, 10 lirst-class Baldwin locomotives will arrive tor the New Zealand Railways. They will be fitted tip at the Petone workshops, under the supervision of an expert sent out for the purpose. None of the new locomotives will be used on the South Island lines.
