BREACHES OF OIL FUEL REGULATIONS

Wellington Firms Fined Fines totalling £44) were imposed by Air. Stilwell, SjM., in tlie Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, for breaches of tlie Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations. Progress Motors, Limited, Wellington, were lined £5 ami costs on one charge, and £2/10/- ami costs on each ot tour other charges. This ease was heard last week, when the magistrate reserved liis decision. Robert Paul Tungiitt, on each of two charges, was fined £lO, and was convicted and discharged on four other counts, lie was also ordered to pay costs. Sixteen charges were .preferred against National Service .Stations, Limited, Wellington. Eight of these charges were withdrawn, and on one charge tlie company was fined £5, with costs. On the remaining seven charges a coivviction was entered in each case, with costs. In all cases tlie defendant pleaded not guilty.
