COUNTRYWOMEN'S DAY
Early Canterbury Frocks At Exhibition Countrywomen’s day at the Women’s Court of the Exhibition will be Tuesday, January 30, and for that occasion rhe Canterbury countrywomen have arranged a. parade of period frocks. These frocks all belong and have been worn by members of Canterbury families during the past 80 to 100 years, and this should, therefore, prove a popular display. The parade will be given three times, during the morning, afternoon and evening of that day. A brief history of each gown will be rend by Miss Van Staveren during the parade. Incidental music is being arranged by Mrs. Goodson and the Taita Women’s Institute will sing glees. Early in the afternoon Miss .Sutherland, Masterton, will deliver a lecture on the Maori, this being given this month as Miss Sutherland was unable to come to Wellington in December. The programme should prove most interesting, and the countrywomen’s committee hope to see all their friends at the women’s demonstration hall on Tuesday.
