E.S.U. Morning Party For Mrs. P. A. M. Mcßride

People from many New Zealand centres attended an informal morning party yesterday, in honour of Mrs. P. A. M. Mcßride, Australia, and arranged by the Wellington branch of the English-Speaking Union. Mrs. McBride is the wife of Senator Mcßride, Australia’s representative for the New Zealand centennial celebrations, and many members and friends were able to meet her at the party. Mrs. Mcßride was accompanied by Mrs. C. E. Critchley, wife of the Australian Trade Commissioner, and Mrs. J. L. Menzies, wife of the assistant commissioner, A welcome was extended to the guest of honour by Mrs. K. Preston, chairman of the women’s committee. As people .arrived they were introduced to Mrs. Mcßride by the union secretary, Mrs. G. 11. Perry. The first welcome her husband and she had received' on their arrival in New Zealand, 'Mrs. Mcßride said, and one which they deeply appreciated, was a letter of greeting from the chairman of the Wellington branch of the Eng lish-Speaklng Union. As a member of the union in Australia, Mrs. Mcßride spoke of the value of tiie work being done, not only there but in all centres where branches were established Lovely shoulder posies of roses and maidenhair fern were presented to Mrs. Mcßride, Mrs. Critchley and Mrs. Menzies
