CHRISTMAS DANCE

Troops Stationed At Fort Dorset A special Christmas dance, arranged by the Fort Dorset Association, was held in the Rongotai College gymnasium recently for troops stationed at ■ Fort Dorset. Between 250 and 300 people attended. and the programme included modern and old-time dances, and items by the pu.pils of Mr. David Devitt. A novelty that was greatly appreciated was introduced just before supper was served. The lights in the hall were dimmed and from behind the curtain on the stage Father Christmas appeared and led a short community «ing of carols. Other itemi-' much appreciated were the excellent solos by Gunner Bliss, of Fort Dorset. The president of the bort Dorset Association, Major A. C. Hinman, addressed those present, and Captain Thomas expressed appreciation on behalf of the personnel of the fort, particularly those wliu will not be able to have Christmas leave.
