SUMMER SHOW

Wadestown Garden Society RECORD ENTRIES In spite of unfavourable weather, record entries were received for the Wadestown Cottage Garden and Beautifying Society's annual summer show, held iu Ibe parish hall. 'Wadestown, recently. The attendance was also n record. The president of the society, Mr. T. E. T. Setldou, introduced M_r. F. Campbell Spratt, who officially opened the show. Mr. Spratt congratulated exhibitors and complimented the society on its aims and objects. He urged those present to do their part in beautifying the district, particularly in the way of planting banks and localities which were unsightly. A pleasing exhibit was that staged by Mrs. R. G. Kain. It consisted of a large bowl of Russell lupins and another of mixed flowers. The champion rose was exhibited by Mr. A. T. Young. Misses Chartres and Beagley and Mr. T. Waugh acted as judges.
