The Wellington Swimming Centre’s weekly polo competitions were continued at Thermion baths last night. Results were :—■
C grade: University defaulted to Mara uni : Maranui B 2. Worser Bay 1: Ilataitai B 4. Lyall Bay 1 ; Maranui C 4 llataiiai A I.'
B grade: Worser Bay 5. Y.M.C.A. 0: Wellington 1. University J; Maranui 2, Hataitni 1.
A grade : Lyall Bay 0. Maranui 0. The following players have boon selected to play in a Possibles v. Probables match at Thorndon baths on December 19 at 5.15 p.m.:—-Possible: Redmond, C. Claridge, D. Pelham, H. Warburton. J. Blakeley, B. Hatchwell and P. Balfour. Probables: H. Hntchard. P. Ballard. W. Page, D. Evans. K. Sommerville, J. Williams. and C. Jones. Emergencies: Burns and. J. Clark..
The boss was giving the new traveller some last-miuute advice before he left ou his first journey.
“Well, good luck to you. my boy,” he said. “And remember, if you have an important message, wire us without delay.” The following day a wire arrived: “Arrived here safely. Got a lovely room with bath. Feeling tine.”
The boss replied: “So glad. Remember to air your nightie. Love and kisses.”
