TE RAPA TRACKS

Royal Bachelor Impresses

Dominion Special Service.. HAMILTON, September 2«. , Conditions were pleasant at To Rapa this morning when the going on the course proper. 66 feet, out from the rails, was in splendid order for galloping. A busy programme was observed, the best efforts over sprint distances being those of Royal Bachelor, Young Paddon and the improving Gasacre. Little Briton impressed in a school over a section of the steeplechase course. Roj-al Bachelor (Brady) was clear of Mayfair (Ramsay) at the completion of live furlongs in 1.8 1-5. Royal Bachelor ran the first half mile in 53, and his time was not bettered during the morning. He (Ss to contest the open sprint on the first day at Paeroa and should give a good account of himself.

Respectful (McKenzie) ran three furlongs in -10 -1-5.

Forest Bridge (Gollop) dashed over two furlongs along the back in 26-1. Foxsen (J. Mdnally) pleased by running five furlongs in 1.8 3-5. Her first half mile occupying 55. This member of J. F. Tutchen’s string is making steady progress.

Slarbright (.1. Mclnall.v) accounted for Meadow (McKenzie) over the deciding stages of half a mile in 56 1-5. Starbright appears to be improved with racing at Avondale and tuny soon be seen to better advantage. Raceline (Hain), who looks none the worse for Avondale exertions, ran two furlongs along the back in 25. Karatoke (Hain) and Diversity (Long) were practically abreast at the completion of five furlongs in 1.9 4-5, the first half mile in 55.

Calshot (O. Mclnally) and Poland (J. Mclnally) were companions over seven furlongs in 1.39 4-5. After running his first six furlongs in 1.261. Master Brierly (McKenzie) was finishing on resolutely to account decisively for Cappy (Goulsbro) in 2.14. Master Brierly is bearing an improved appearance, and with the firming of the tracks he may make early amends.

Racecamp (O. Mclnally) got to the end of half a mile in 561. Saint Musk (R. E. Thomson) was not bustled to traverse a round in 2.23 1-5. Saint. Musk looks much improved in appearance, and should strip well when called upon to race. Manerloo (Long) and Acreman (J. Mclnally) ran to the half mile in 51 1-5. An encouraging effort was credited to the novice. Gasacre (Ensor), who finished in front of Rosemae (Long), Trig Station (McKenzie) and Australian Star (Brown) over live furlongs in 1.8 1-5. They ran the first half mile in 54 1-5, and the time for the full distance was equal to the best, of Ihe morning. Sir Lysander (McLaughlin) negotiated half a mile in 54 1-5.

Young Paddon (Long), who appears to have derived benefit from the course of schooling allotted him of late, ran five furlongs in 1.8 1-5, his first half mile in 53 4-5.

The most attractive schooling of the morning was provided by Little Briton (Sharkey), who, in negotiating four fences of the steeplechase country, gave a fast and dashing display of fencing. He is to contest the Maramarua Steeplechase at Paeroa on Saturday, and should command a strong following. The display of Dark Rose (C. L. Goulsbro), on the other hand, was not impressive. Gascyne (O. Mclnally) and Gaine’s Choice (Winder) were schooled over two hurdles and shaped satisfactorily, as also did Rothoon (0. L. Goulsbro), 'Mio Geuerale (Watson), and Mio Fratollo (Amundsen), who were later associated over four hurdles. Riding engagements for Paeroa include: J. McLaughlin. AVishacre._ Sir Lysander, General Riske; A. Gilmer, British Sovereign, Wasp; W. M. Thomson, Full Hand, Philcourt, Miss Bridge. Very Glad, and (second day) Inver, Princess Vai; 11. Long, Young Paddon, Rosemae, Beverley.
