HOSPITAL FINANCE

Government Not Altering System COUNTIES ADVISED The Government has no intention of promoting legislation for the purpose of altering the existing system of hospital finance. This decision was conveyed to the biennial conference of the New Zealand Counties’ Association by the Minister of Health, Mr. Fraser, in a letter yesterday. A deputation from the Municipal Association and the Counties’ Association waited on the Minister in March, urging the desirability of changes being made iu the existing system. In his letter, Mr. Fraser said the representations made had received the careful attention of the Government. After reading the letter, the president, Mr. C. J. Talbot, said conference had already considered the question fully. The executive would carry on with its representations.
