McDonald —Angove
Wearing a princess gown of magnolia satin with trained effect, Miss Alexia Vera Angove made a pretty bride at her wedding in Masterton on a recent evening. Her embroidered veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom, both these being lent by a friend, and a graceful bouquet of lilies, stock, asters and fern was carried. The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Angove, Waingawa, Masterton, and the bridegroom is the eldest, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. McDonald, Te Ore Ore, Masterton. The Rev. J. Davie was the officiating minister and Mr. Wilson was at the organ. French blue georgette over satin was worn by the bride’s sister, as bridesmaid. Blue and gold flowers were formed into a halo for her hair and her bouquet was made of flowers in the same shades. Mr. Alex McDonald acted as best man. The bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe on leaving the church by her niece, Helen Angove. A reception was held in a marquee at the home of the bride’s parents, where Mr. and Mrs. Angove, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. McDonald, sen., received the guests. The bride’s mother wore navy blue, the bridegroom’s mother being in navy blue also, trimmed with a lighter blue, and both carried posies of matching flowers. Sweet peas and gladiolas decorated the tables, and the beautiful twotiered cake held place of honour, this being presented to the bride by Mr. and Mrs. Hawksworth. The bride travelled In a frock of navy, with a ligfit summer coat and matching accessories. The future home of the young couple will be in Masterton.
