Work Of Wellington City. Mission Considerable assistance is still being given men and boys in pour circumstances by the Wellington City Mission, Tartniaki Street. The city missioner. Mr, Neville C. Titchener, said yesterday that the 25 beds in the men’s shelter were nearly always fully occupied and added that there were 14 in residence in the boy’s hostel. Though a few old-age pensioners are living in the men’s snelter, there is always room for men. down on their luck, who apply I’or beds. Most of these men are just passing through ’Wellington trad are allowed to stay at the shelter for one week only. The occupants of the boy's hostel, whose ages range from 15 to 20, come from all over New Zealand and for the most part are employed in Wellington on low wages. 'When they begin to earn more than £2 a week it is considered that they are capable of keeping themselves and they leave the hostel to make room for someone else.
