The Hawke’s Bay provincial tennis championships opened on the Waipukurati club’s courts this morning in ideal weather. Play will continue till Saturday. Eight courts are in use and entries are large.
With several high grade players competing the standard of play has been high. Among the contestants are N. Smith and L. Marchant (Wellington). P. Plummer (Waipawa), A. and Miss T. Dickie (Hawera), J.
