Rebuff To League Of Nations Union
Cardinal Hinsley, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, has written to Viscount Cecil resigning from the vice-presidency of the League of Nations Union on the ground that it has lost its essential all-party non-political character.
The closing of the Australian casli and conversion loan of £72,000,000 was marked by a last-minute rush of applications. It is known that the result of the loan has been highly satisfactory to the Treasury.
