Move To Totalitarianism
BUCHAREST, December 15.
Rumania lias moved in the direction of creating a totalitarian regime by forming .a single official party entitled the “Union of National Rebirth.” The founders include five former members of the suppressed Peasant Party, five former Liberals, and five former memmers of the anti-Semitic group. Dr. Miron Cristea, the Patriarch of Rumania, and the present Premier, will probably head the party, which closely resembles the Nazi and Fascist organizations. It will be the only recognized political party and all Government officials must join it.
