Parents And Friends At Croydon School
A large number of parents and friends were present in the assembly hall of Croydon School, Day’s Bay, on a recent afternoon for the annual prizegiving ceremony. American pillar rambler roses and flags decoiated the room. , Those on the stage -were the chairman, the Kt. Rev. 11. St. Barbe Holland, Air. C. H. T. Skelley, headmaster and Mrs. Skelley, Air. and Mrs C. C. Allies, Air. and Airs. H. E. Evans, Air. and Airs. T. T. T. Bush and Sir Alexander Roberts, who presented the prizes. The annual school sports were also held recently in the school grounds on a pleasant sunny day. During the afternoon tea was served in the dininghall where ’Air. and Airs. Skelley, the staff and boys entertained many parents and friends. Among those present were, Bishop and Mrs. Sprott, Lady Sbirtcliffe, Aliss Findlay, Airs. Lance Porter, Airs. A. H. Mills, Mrs. Hayes, Miss Thomas, Alisses Sladden, Air. and Airs. H. E. Evans, Airs. Latham, Mrs. G. Porter, Air. and Airs. E. H. Anderson, Airs. F. Ashley, Mrs. and Miss Rapley, Airs. B. A. Aloore, Aliss Quinton, Air. and Mrs. C. C Miles, Air. and Mrs. T. T. T. Bush, Airs. A. E. Alabin, Mrs. G. Williamson, Mr. and Airs. Eric Alabin, Mr. and Airs. Boys’ Eentertahinicnt. Parents and friends spent an amusing evening at the school when the boys presented two short plays, ‘ Smith Alinor’s Recitation.” played by boys from the infant room, was very well acted. The other play was a musical farce, “The Persecuted Policeman,” by C. Ward. The audience were kept well amused throughout and every boy made the most of his part. The cliorns singing and the solos of the two chief “policemen” were excellent. Aliss Mells was responsible for training the boys who presented the entertaining programme.
