Christmas Treat For Aged
Home Inmates
A much-appreciated entertainment was given recently for the Inmates of the Home for Aged Needy, Newtown, Wellington, when a bright programme of items was given at the annual Christmas concert organized by Airs. Brittan Logan aud committee ahd by Airs. C. B. Temperley, chairman.
Speeches were given by Mrs. Temperley, Airs. Logan, the matron aud Air. Alartin. Alembers of the committee and board expressed the pleasure they felt at the treat which had been so kindly arranged, once again to bring good cheer to the old people.
An enjoyable programme was presented. Those taking part were: Aliss Jackson and Air. AVulpole, musical items; Aliss Hazel Alartin's pupils, dances; Aliss Valerie Asheuden, songs;, Air. Cousins and Air. Just, radio broadcast sketch; Air. uud Aliss Cousins, recitation ; Aliss Baby Black, skipping aud tap-dauce; Father aud Alotber Christmas; Air. Smith, bagpipes item. Sui>per was served, followed by a grand march. Presents presented to the inmates and children brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
