SCHOOL “HOWLERS”

Several schoolboy “howlers” were quoted by the chairman of the Wellington Technical College board of governors, Mr. AV. Appleton, when speaking at the annual breaking-up ceremony of the college last night. They included : A boy, asked his opinion of Nero, replied that the less said about Nero the bettor. A boy defined a cone as a unit of icecream measurement.
A Conservative is a house for green things full of hot air. Referring to the widow’s cruze, a boy said Elijah was a prophet who Avent for a cruise with a widow.
