The Colonial Secretary, Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, in consultation with the Governor of the Straits Settlements and the High Commissioner fof the Malay States, has appointed a commission to visit Malaya this autumn to survey existing arrangements for higher education in Malaya and consider, in the light of local needs and conditions, whether they require extension, and if so in what directions and by what methods.
