SUCCESSFUL DANCE
Old Students At Technical College
Danees at which many of those present have been at school together are always delightfully friendly, and informal. and the one held on Saturday night in the Technical College auditor ium was no exception. The combined clubs of the old students’ association had organised the dance, which was ti great success, for the purpose Of raising funds toward lighting the approach to the college. The auditorium was decorated with ags and coloured bunting. The orchestra played from the stage where the soft green curtains looked most attractive against the light, wood of the hall. A wide space in front of the stage bad been cleared for dancing, leaving seats at the back from which the less energetic could watch. A savoury supper was served in the cafetarla, where the embroidered tablecloths of orange linen made an attractive background for vases of Iceland poppies. Chrysanthemums and autumn berries were also used in decorating this room.
The committee responsible for this dance consisted of Misses Florence Card. Elizabeth Laycock, Clara Hansen. Edna Dunce, Peggy Roberts. Ellen Gandar, Tris Riddell, Messrs. C. Bonner, president of the old students’ association ; Eric Lander, who was M.C.. W. Moore, G. Churchill and Eric Boyle. They were assisted by Mr. Max Gandar, president of the parents’ association, and Mrs. Gandar. president of the ladies’ auxiliary, and other members of the parents’ association. Among those present wag Mr. F. H. Paul, vice-presi-dent of the old students’ association.
