TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD
Branch Formed At Miramar
The central branch of the ' 'Townswomen's Guild in Wellington is very little more than a year old, but so active and popular has it been in that short time that already branches are being formed in the suburbs. The newest recruit is Miramar. Last week a well-attended meeting to form a Miramar branch was held at the home of Mrs. G. N. Findlay. Mrs. James Pow, Dominion president of the guild, presided, and with her was associated Mrs. P. H. Kinsman, Dominion secretary. Mrs. Pow spoke on the aims and objects of the guild, and expressed the hope that a branch would be formed at Miramar. At the conclusion of her address a vote of thanks was moved for her kindness in presiding at the meeting. It was unanimously decided to form the branch, and the following officers and committee were elected - President, Mrs. Goodwin; vice-president, Mrs. Pritchard ; honorary secretary, Mrs. H. E. Savage: honorary treasurer, Mrs. TV. Andrews, committee, Mesdames Findlay, Latime, Gooch, Kent, Dineen, Lookman and Hutchison. At the conclusion of a very successful meeting Mrs. Findlay entertained those present to afternoon tea, for which kindly thought she was thanked, on behalf of her guests, by Mrs. Pow.
