London, May 6. THE Duchess of Athol), M.P., has announced that she has resigned the National Government Whip “on account of the failure of the Government to take adequate steps to secure the withdrawal of Italian troops from Spain before the signature of rhe Italian, Pact or to take action with other Powers to safeguard peace in Central Europe and on the shores, of the North Sea.” Miss Daphne Banks, daughter of Leslie Banks, the actor, is painting all the scenery of her father's new show, “Charles and Mady.” She is doing most of her work at the Players’ Theatre, Covent Garden.
