A large yarding of cattle anil an average yarding of sheep came forward at the Johnsonville sale. The bullock pen was of inferior quality, only a few pens of prime cattle coming forward, the balance of the yarding consisting of lightweight and unfinished cattle. The yarding of runners and vealers was not up to the usual quality, with the result that prices showed a drop of 5/- to 10/- a head.- 9'he yarding of wethers was of mixed quality, the majority being light mid medium-weight sheep. With the exception of plain wethers all classes met with a ready sale with no alteration. Owing to tlie sliort yarding ;of ewes prices were linn on last week’s. 9'he quality of lambs was good, these meeting with keen demand, while lightweight and unfinished sorts were hard to sell. Quotations are as follows : — Prime extra heavy bullocks, £l5/- to £l4/15/-; prime tieavv bullocks, £l4 12/- to £l4; heavy btiHocks, £l3/18/- to £l3/12/-; bullocks. £l3 to £ll/18/-; light and unfinished bullocks, £lO/10/- to £9: extra prime heavy cows and heifers, £lO to £9/8/-; prime heavy cows and heifers, £9/5/- to £8: cows and heifers, £7/10/- to £6/18/-; boner cows, £2/18/to £2/2/-; runners and vealers, £5 to £2 5/-; small calves, 21/- to 15/-. Prime extra heavy wethers, 28/9 to 27/6; prime heavy wethers. 27/3 to 26/9; medium wethers. 26/6 to 23/6: prime extra heavy ewes, extra good. 26/6 to 25/6; prime heavy ewes. 25/3 to 22/-: medium ewes. 21/- to 20/-: unfinished ewes. 15/- to 8/-: heavy lambs. 26/10 to 21/9; medium lambs, 21/3 to 19/8; light Lambs. 18/6 to 16/-.
