AIR RAID “BLACK-OUT”
Portsmouth Naval Area (British Official Wireless.) (Received March 25, 5 p.m.) Rugby, March 24. For two hours last night the Portsmouth naval area, including .Southampton, the Isle of Wight, and 600 square miles inland, was “blacked out” for the biggest air raid defence experiment yet attempted in Britain. , The “black-out” is to be repeated tonight. A total of 5000 air raid precaution volunteers were at their posts.
