150 Warships And 500 Planes (Received February 22, 9 p.m.) Washington, February 22. The Navy has announced that the mid-March manoeuvres will cover eleven to twelve million square miles in the Pacific from Hawaii to Midway Islands and from Alaska and Aleutians to Samoa; 150 warships, 500 aeroplanes, 3600 officers and 55,000 ratings will be involved. It is indicated that they will be the most southerly manoeuvres ever made by the American Navy, and will traverse the areas of several Japanese mandated islands.
