Ashhurst Payments Increase Dominion Special Service. Paiinerston North, January 27. As a result of a totalisator increase of nearly £3OOO at its annual meeting on Saturday, the Ashhurst Racing Club will pay- the Treasury £312/12/- more than the total of £l2OB/1/9 last year. Taxation for the meeting is made up as follows:—

The gate takings showed an increase of £47 over last yetir. Salo of Royal Tinge. A recent addition to F. W. Davis's team is Royal Tinge, a three-year-old gelding by Royal Divorce from Royal Queen. Iforiuerly owned by Mr. \V. Bailey, he was purchased last week by Mr. W. 11. Gaisford. Royal Titige hns not. done a great deal of racing, but he showed a glimpse of form at the Ashhurst meeting, when he finished third in the novice Stakes. Mala Here.

Mala arrived from Sydney on -Monday and rejoined 11. E. Russell's stable. It was reported from .Sydney that Mala became very wayward, and his owner, Mr. A. Cooper, decided to seud him fo Russell to see if he could do anything with him. Mala is iu wonderfully’ good order, and Is expected to be ou the tracks next week. Answers to Correspondents.
