DISAGREEMENT IN UNION
Secretary Dismissed By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, January 27. Further dramatic scenes have characterised recent meetings of the Auckland and Suburban Local Bodies Labourers’ and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers, which in recent months figured in Supreme Court proceedings. It is' alleged that at a meeting this week the secretary, Mr. Bernard Clews, was forcibly relieved of keys belonging to the uniou after being summarily dismissed from his position by the newly-appointed executive. It is understood that the secretary obtained the assistance of the police to recover certa'in keys which were his personal'property and to supervise the counting of money in the safe iu the union office. It is further stated that Mr. Clews has since been unable to enter the office, as the lock on the door has been changed. Mr. Clews is taking steps to regain admittance to the office, and meanwhile he remains in possession of a new motor-car, the property of the union.
