YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Wellington,— Yesterday was a beautifully warm and sunny day with a light but fresh north-westerly wind. The minimum temperature on Sunday night was 55.2 deg., and the maximum yesterday was 70.4 deg. The temperature at 3.30 p.m. yesterday was 67.6 deg., and the barometer reading was 2O.SSin. Palmerston North. — Cloudy, with patches of blue sky, warm temperatures and no wind. Wanganui.— Bright sunshine, with detached clouds, a moderate westerly wind and a moderate sea at Wanganui Heads. The barometer at 29.95 was falling slightly at 4 p.m. Mastertoil.— Sunny and hot, with passing clouds. Practically no wind. Napier and Hastings.—-A warm summer day with an easterly breeze. Waipukurau.—A hot, muggy day: temperature for some hours being SOdeg., dropping by 8 p.m. to 68deg. Auckland.— Sunny, with a moderate south-south-west breeze: temperatures warm, with a maximum of 74deg. The barometric pressure was steady, the 5 p.m. reading being 29.91 in. Christchurch. — Fine, anil for the most part, sunny, with a light north-east breeze. The maximum’temperature was Gli.Odeg. The barometer showed a falt ing tendency and read 29.86 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin.— After rain overnight, the morning was line and sunny, and the temperature reached a maximum of 69deg. In the afternoon, though there was little wind, the sky became overcast and a sharp shower fell. The barometer fell slightly in thejnorning, but was later steady at 29.11.~iin.
