WALKS ON EGMONT
Lord Galway Interested In
New Scheme

The creation of walks on Mount Egmont bordered by every known rock plant in the world as a Taranaki centenary gesture is a scheme in which the GovernoryGeneral, Lord Galway, is displaying keen interest. His Excellency arrived from Auckland this morning and motored to the plateau on the Stratford side of Egmont, where he was met by a large number of Taranaki people interested in native flora ;.\id the mountain generally. Schemes for the formation of walks were discussed, and the party took luncheon in tlie open air. Much enthusiasm for the project was shown and the Governor-General promised all the help he could give. After traversing the “enchanted walk,” Lord Galway said be believed it contained a greater variety of alpine plants than any other mile walk in the world.
