WEDDING

Stuart—McKenzie The marriage took place recently at Knox Church, Masterton, of Katherine Doris, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McKenzie, “Puke Te,” Masterton, and John, eldest sou of Mr. and Mrs. A. Stuart, “Runnymede,” Marton. The Rev. John Davie officiated, and Mr. C. W. Kerry presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a simple gown of mush-room-pink lace, slightly flared from the knees and falling into a long graceful train. It was finished with a silver girdle and orange blossom. Her beautiful embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and pale pink carnations. The two bridesmaids, Misses Joan McKenzie, sister of the bride, and Nell Stuart, sister of the bridegroom, were dressed alike in trained frocks of coronation red velvet cut on fitting lines and finished with gold girdles and goldtipped roses at the neck. They wore plaited gold headbands and gold shoes, and their golden-shaded bouquet, were of chrysanthemums and autumn foliage. The flower-girl, Miss Jeanette McKenzie, niece of the bride, was a dainty figure in a Victorian frock of

red sprigged organdie, arid she carried a pink posy. Mr. R. P. Stuart, Marton, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, and Mr. 11. B. Stewart, Marton, was groomsman. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart received the guests at a reception at the Parish Hall. The bride’s mother wore a tailored violet ensemble with velour hat to match, while the bridegroom's mother was in a simple navy suit with navj' hat and gloves. Mrs. McGovern, grandmother of the bride, wore a black frock and coat and carried a bouquet of carnations and freesias. The couple left later by car, the bride wearing a navy tailored costume with navy peach-bloom velour hat and navy accessories.
